Agua Boa is one of the few lodges in the Amazon dedicated to fly fishing for peacock bass. It's essential to highlight that the Agua Boa holds the distinction of being the Amazon's first fly-fishing-only peacock bass lodge. Guests are required to use single barbless hooks, and catch and release practices are mandatory for all fisherman.

The Agua Boa River affords many sight fishing opportunities for large peacock bass on 8 and 9 weight rods. These predatory fish attack flies with reckless abandon and pull like hell once they’re on the line.

The Agua Boa river has seen some 20 different species of fish caught on the fly and identified, with the different species of Peacock Bass being the prime quarry for the majority of the guests visiting the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. These range in size from the Butterfly Peacock (Cichla ocellaris) with an average size of 3 to 5 lbs up to the giant Tucanare Peacock Bass (Cichla temensis) over 20 pounds.

Additional species include Arowana, the Pacu, and the Pirarucu. All these species are incredible to catch on the fly and can make this a truly multi-species experience of a lifetime.

The Agua Boa Amazon Lodge is located in one of the Amazon rainforest's last remaining tracts of uncut and uninhabited rainforest on a clear water peacock bass fishery. The lodge provides fishermen with a level of comfort, friendly service, and a sense of privacy in the rainforest that will make anyone feel at home. Of course, one look out at the whitesand beach in front of camp, and you will know immediately that you are someplace far from home.
